Reviving the game, one field at a time

Over the years, I have led and curated multiple hockey development programs across India aimed at nurturing young talent, empowering local coaches, and strengthening community engagement. Each clinic is built on one simple idea, when sport reaches the grassroots, change becomes inevitable.

1. Rising Sticks Program – Punjab & Haryana

Focused on school-level training for under-16 players, this initiative partnered with local academies to identify emerging talent and provide technical and psychological mentorship.

Highlights:

  • 8-day residential clinic for 120 students
  • Collaboration with former national players and certified coaches
  • Equipment donation drive for rural schools

2. Project Goal – Odisha

Aimed at bridging the gap between tribal and urban hockey ecosystems, this project combined coaching workshops, health awareness sessions, and leadership training for girls.

Highlights:

  • 6 community clusters activated in Sundargarh and Rourkela
  • 300+ participants across 5 districts
  • Mentorship and nutrition sessions led by women athletes

3. Back to the Field – Maharashtra

Post-pandemic grassroots revival program designed to reignite local participation and rebuild confidence among school and junior players.

Highlights:

  • 10-day hockey boot camp in Mumbai and Pune
  • Mental wellness and injury prevention modules
  • Partnership with district associations for long-term athlete tracking

4. North-East Rising – Assam & Manipur

Community clinics created to strengthen hockey in rural and semi-urban regions, focusing on inclusivity and equal opportunity for girls and boys.

Highlights:

  • Over 200 young players trained in two states
  • Coach-the-coach programs to ensure sustainability
  • Equipment assistance for 5 regional schools

5. Hockey for Her – Gujarat & Uttar Pradesh

A movement to promote girls’ participation in hockey through safe access to sports infrastructure, mentorship, and digital visibility.

Highlights:

  • 15 schools enrolled in ongoing mentorship
  • Introduction to leadership and life-skills curriculum
  • Collaboration with local women athletes as ambassadors

6. Future Fields Program – Tamil Nadu

Skill-based workshops blending analytics, gameplay, and digital learning modules to prepare young athletes for competitive sport.

Highlights:

  • 100+ student-athletes trained
  • Integration of performance analytics and video review
  • Community showcase matches promoting local engagement
